There are literally hundreds of diets out there, so choosing the most convenient can be a daunting task. It is reported that by age 45, a large percentage of British women will have been on not less than 61 diets! Things get more complicated as we hear about unusual dieting tips. Celebrities affirm that the secret to their enviable shape lies in strange-looking recipes, like seaweed smoothies or coconut oil. Is there any truth to those claims? In this article we will uncover five of the weirdest celebrity diet secrets.

Talking to fellow dieters is always a good way of exchanging tips that can help you reach your objectives. The Internet is also a great source of information, especially since A-list celebrities decided to share their dieting tips with the rest of us. And let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to look like Adriana Lima? Read on if you are curious about the most famous (and weird) celebrity diet secrets.

1- Jennifer Aniston: no breakfast for you

The famous friends actress claims that the best way to lose weight is to skip breakfast altogether and to drink large amounts of lemon juice. And allegedly, some of her lunches consist exclusively of yummy cucumbers!

The rationale behind it: lemon juice is great for detoxing and can help burn fat faster. Cucumbers are 95 per cent water, so they can fill you up without adding barely any calories.

2- Angelina Jolie: a low calorie-high energy diet

Once curvy Angelina Jolie shocked the world with her dramatic weight loss a few years ago. She has since maintained a very lithe frame, which she attributes to consuming a maximum of 600 calories per day. The bulk of these calories are obtained from cereals, coconut oil, soymilk, red meat and acai berries.

The rationale behind it: soymilk has multiple health benefits without the fat content that dairy has. Acai berries and coconut oil are considered super foods rich in fibre and antioxidants that help speed up your metabolism.

3- Adriana Lima: the liquid diet

At 120 pounds, you would think that supermodel Adriana Lima has no need for dieting. Yet, she reportedly sticks to a liquid-only diet for over a week in preparation for one of her major fashion shows. As if that was not enough, she claims that the day before the show she does not drink any liquids at all.

The rationale behind it: water can make up for a significant percentage of our total weight, so not consuming any liquids for 24 hours will surely do away with bloating -and get you dehydrated!

4- Nichole Kidman: boiled egg times three

The Australian star is said to have gone on a hard boiled egg diet while working on her movie Cold Mountain. The diet consisted on eating nothing but an egg for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Ok, two eggs for dinner. Seriously.

The rationale behind it: there’s no math involved here. If you don’t eat nearly enough, you will surely lose weight.

5- Victoria Beckham: two pints of smoothies a day keep the weight away

But not just any smoothie, as these are salty concoctions made of different types of seaweed. The singer now turned fashion designer seems to have a penchant for seafood, as she also consumes large amounts of prawns. Well, she also complements her diet with edamame beans.

The rationale behind it: seaweed has only 10 calories per serving and virtually 0 fat. It is also packed with vitamins and other essential nutrients. Edamame beans on the other hand are a good source of protein.

While some of the tips mentioned can work to some extent, there is no denying that the most benefits of healthy weight loss can only be achieved through and varied and carefully planned low calorie diet together with a suitable exercise program.
